Samuel B. Baggett

Samuel B. Baggett, was born on the family farm near Saddletree Swamp, Robeson Co., NC on October 31, 1849 . When he was about 25 years old, he and his brothers migrated to Austin County in South Texas where they began to farm. He married his neighbor Sidney Ann McLaughlin on October 26, 1878 . Sidney was the sister of the wife of Samuel’s older brother, William. Sidney was born on May 18, 1859 in Texas and was the daughter of Stanton M. McLaughlin and Artemisia Buxton.

John W. Baggett, was born February 1880, Austin Co., TX, died in August 1880 in Austin Co., TX.

Callie E. Baggett was born October 30, 1881 , in Runnels County , TX . She married in 1906 to Claude Wood in Runnels County and she died in 1982 in Wiliston , North Dakota .

Mary E. Baggett, was born May 18, 1883 , in Runnels County , TX . She married #1 Jake Lee, #2 Jake Cotrell, #3 Bill Glasscock. She died in 1940 in Olney , IL and her body was returned to Electra, TX where she was buried in the Electra Cemetery (New).

Walter J. Baggett, was born October 1885, in Runnels County , TX . He married Ruby M. and died in 1948 and is buried in the Electra Cemetery , Electra, TX.

Maggie Baggett, was born February 1887, in Runnels County , TX . She married Will Marsh.

Jessie L. Baggett, was born March 1889, in Runnels County , TX . He married Lily Ware and is believed to have died in New Mexico .

Catherine “Ethel” Baggett, was born April 26, 1891 , in Runnels County , TX . She married Willie Marion Stom, (who was born September 7, 1888 in Calvert City, Kentucky and died October 16, 1966 in Buna, TX)on March 17, 1910 in Ballinger, Runnels Co., TX. She died on October 17, 1983 in Buna, TX. Both are buried in Buna, TX.

Louella Baggett, was born March 10, 1893 , Caldwell, Burleson Co., TX and died in a nursing home in Electra, TX on March 23, 1990 at the age of 97. She married Ernest William Gaines of Comanche Co., TX on December 28, 1913 .

Samuel Baggett, was born April 1895 in Texas , he never married and died in the McKinney VA hospital in 1965. He is buried in the Electra Cemetery , Electra, TX.

Robert Raymond Baggett, was born May 1898 in Texas and married Silvia. He probably died in New York State .

Beulah Baggett, was born in 1901 in Runnels Co., TX. She left Texas early for parts unknown, but her family thought she went to New York City.  She never contacted her family and she never returned.
